Media Advisory - CMHC publishes Social and Affordable Housing Survey

OTTAWA, ON, May 3, 2024 /CNW/ - Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) will publish the results of the 2023 Social and Affordable Housing Survey ? Rental Structures (SAHS-RS) on May 3 at 10:00am ET.

The goal of the SAHS-RS is to develop data and indicators to understand progress toward improved housing outcomes. Data is collected at a structure/project level and includes information such as

• Number of units
• Dwelling type
• Number of units by bedroom type
• Targeted clientele
• Unoccupied units
• Rents
• Services offered

Respondents include providers of social and affordable housing including various levels of government, non-profit organizations, cooperatives and private companies. Data is collected across Canada with results available at the provincial/territorial and centre level.

Note: This data differs from the Rental Market Survey which covers only privately initiated structures with at least 3 rental units, which have been on the market for at least 3 months.
