Interim HealthCare Inc. Names 2024 Nurse of the Year

Interim HealthCare Inc., the nation's leading network of home care, senior care, home health, hospice and medical staffing services, announced Jennifer Ragsdale, RN, as its 2024 Nurse of the Year. A registered nurse at Interim HealthCare of Hudson, Wisconsin, Jennifer is awarded for setting a high standard of care with her individualized approach and commitment to patients.

"Jennifer is a phenomenal person and an amazing nurse," said Steven Alessandro, owner of Interim HealthCare of Hudson, Wisconsin. "She wholeheartedly believes that every person deserves to have quality, loving care and doesn't give up on even the hardest of cases. Jennifer finds a way to connect with individuals on a personal level and truly embodies patient-centered care. In particular, her deep love for the veterans in our community and diligence in figuring out ways for us to help those with complex needs is truly admirable."

Jennifer's career as a nurse spans 16 years, six of which have been with Interim HealthCare of Hudson, where she's displayed integrity and ingenuity from the beginning. Her main goal as a nurse is to build a trusting relationship with patients, becoming an advocate to help them reach their full health potential. Jennifer has mastered the start-of-care assessment with new patients to make informed decisions on how to utilize services efficiently, and she continues using this thorough and detailed approach to create a lasting personalized experience for each one.

A lifelong learner, Jennifer started with Interim HealthCare as a licensed practical nurse, and in 2023 completed the program to become a registered nurse. Outside of patient care, she works tirelessly for Interim HealthCare as a whole and consistently brainstorms new strategies to help the company optimize and enhance how it delivers care. She also works closely with community resources, such as Veterans Affairs benefits and services like Meals on Wheels, to quickly and effectively connect patients who may be struggling with medical costs.

"It's a great honor to be named Interim HealthCare's 2024 Nurse of the Year," said Jennifer Ragsdale. "I truly cherish working in my community and alongside my colleagues to help our patients and their families have a positive, holistic and personalized care experience. To be able to connect with individuals and be a bright spot in their day through my role as a nurse is incredibly fulfilling."

As part of National Nurses Week (May 6-12), Interim HealthCare annually honors a nurse in its organization who exemplifies the true heart of nursing and the company's core values of integrity, compassion, customer focus, innovation and responsibility. The company evaluated nominations for exceptional nurses from Interim HealthCare locations across the country to determine this year's winner.
