Media advisory - Minister McKenna is travelling to New York City to attend the United Nations General Assembly and Climate Week NYC

GATINEAU, QC, Sept. 17, 2017 /CNW/ - Media representatives are advised that the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, will travel to New York City from September 17 to 21 to attend the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and Climate Week NYC events.

Climate Week NYC brings together global leaders from business, government and civil society to showcase the unstoppable momentum of global climate action.

During her visit to New York, the Minister will address the audience of various events open to media demonstrating Canada's leadership in tackling climate change and highlighting our efforts to transition to a low-carbon and climate resilient economy. Minister McKenna will also be available during determined moments to answer questions from media or for interviews.

Media representatives accredited to attend the UNGA and Climate Week NYC are invited to attend the events as well as take advantage of the time offered by the Minister.

Only accredited journalists will be allowed into the venue.
