'G.I.V.E.' Back to Paralyzed Veterans This Fall

WASHINGTON, Oct. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Paralyzed Veterans of America's (Paralyzed Veterans) G.I.V.E clothing donation program is now available to residents in the Chicago area who are looking to give back and show their support for veterans this holiday season.

The G.I.V.E program, which stands for 'Goods Inspiring Veterans Everywhere,' accepts clothing, shoes, hats, belts and other household items for donation. One hundred percent of the proceeds from those donations goes toward supporting programs and services that are provided free to veterans by Paralyzed Veterans of America and its 33 chapters across the country.

"We are honored to bring this program to Chicago residents, and give them an opportunity to give back to our nation's heroes," said Maria Hernandez, executive director of the Paralyzed Veterans Vaughan Chapter in Westchester, IL.  "When you donate to G.I.VE. you are reminding our disabled veterans they are valued and that their community supports them, and that's something the people of Chicago will undoubtedly embrace."

"People can support our veterans just by filling a bag with a lot or a little unwanted clothing.  Something so simple will make a big difference to those who gave so much to our country. This program helps to improve the lives of disabled veterans, and I hope the people of Chicago will maintain the spirit of giving we've seen in locations around the nation," Hernandez concluded.

G.I.V.E. helps support the many men and women who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. The funds raised from the program help provide veterans access to free programs that provide employment assistance, benefits assistance, advocacy and more.
