PHOTO/VIDEO OPPORTUNITY - The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada to Mark Remembrance Day at Runnymede Healthcare Centre
TORONTO, Nov. 3, 2017 /CNW/ - Runnymede Healthcare Centre will be joined by the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada to pay tribute to the men and women who have served our country to protect rights and freedoms around the world.
The hospital will also be honouring its patient veterans during the special ceremony.
Founded in 1860, the Queen's Own Rifles are Canada's oldest continuous infantry regiment; they played a significant role in the leading wave of the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944.
The ceremony will begin with the QOR marching into the hospital dressed in 1860's uniform while buglers play the skirmishers call. Following this will be a performance of The Last Post, a reading of In Flanders Fields and a moment of silence for our fallen soldiers.
