Wounded Warrior Wellness Telethon Bolsters Veteran Support

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In an effort to combat what can be an emotionally difficult holiday season, Wounded Warrior Project^® (WWP) dedicated five days to a Warrior Wellness Telethon, reaching nearly 800 injured veterans and caregivers. The week-long endeavor was an extension of Operation Outreach, a unique WWP program involving every teammate ? including WWP CEO Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Mike Linnington.

Through Operation Outreach, WWP teammates regularly check in with registered wounded warriors, family members, and caregivers through wellness calls during their birth months. This form of support ensures they have everything they need on their roads to recovery.

In January 2018, WWP hit a milestone of serving more than 110,000 wounded warriors and more than 26,000 family members and caregivers. WWP is committed to ensuring every warrior, family member, and caregiver knows they are not alone. Operation Outreach calls help with this and connect those WWP serves to free programs and services that can make a real impact in their lives.

WWP serves warriors by connecting them with one another and their communities. Programs also focus on mental and physical health and wellness, financial wellness, independence, government relations, and community relations and partnerships.
