SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Feb. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- GlobalMed, an international provider of telehealth solutions, today announced it will be showcasing its industry leading telehealth platform, eNcounter® Platform, at the 2018 HIMSS Conference & Exhibition, which will be held March 5-9 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The GlobalMed eNcounter® Platform is designed to unify vertically integrated hardware and software to simplify telehealth for clinicians. It recently earned the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Authority to Operate (ATO) on DoD networks. This much coveted certification enables GlobalMed to put their virtual health applications, hardware and software directly on the DoD network.

In addition to security, the platform is designed for simplicity. "In order to be used effectively, our tools must be simple, easy to learn and never stand in the way of the patient-caregiver relationship," said Gigi Sorenson, Chief Clinical Officer, GlobalMed. "In developing our software solutions, we prioritized a number of aspects: making the software intuitive and easy-to-use so it doesn't hinder workflow, integrating a wide array of medical peripherals, and preserving the images and data in patients' electronic medical records."

eNcounter gives clinicians access to all of the features and functions needed to conduct any form of virtual care, whether they practice in a small medical office, a community hospital or a large healthcare entity.

eNcounter is available through the web, mobile applications and cloud, providing multiple options for easy and secure consultations for both clinicians and patients. eNcounter platform integrates consumer-facing functionality with clinical and non-clinical data-driven devices and wearables, allowing for responsible, outcome focused and evidenced-based consultations.
