Local Chicago Businesses Join Forces with Fire Dept. Coffee for the AFFI Warrior Program

CHICAGO, May 8, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Prairie Street Brewing Co. and Old Chicago Rockford are donating $1 per pint of the limited edition "Java Cream Ale" to the AFFI Warrior Program to purchase a car for a wounded veteran in need.

The ale is crafted by Prairie Street Brewing Co. using Fire Dept. Coffee's cold brew?a firefighter owned and operated roastery that is deeply involved with Rockford Firefighters Local 413 and AFFI's Wheels 4 Warriors Fundraiser that kicked off on April 10.

"It's great to see our community joining forces and coming together to support a local hero who has sacrificed so much," said Fire Dept. Coffee Founder and US Navy veteran Luke Schneider.

Wheels 4 Warriors works to lift the spirits of one local wounded veteran from the Iraq or Afghanistan War by awarding him or her with a new American made vehicle.

To join the firefighter initiative, stop by Old Chicago Rockford or the Prairie Street Brewing Co. and purchase a pint of the "Java Cream Ale." It's a creamy-topped golden colored ale imbued with the flavors and aroma of oats, mildly sweet malt, and smooth iced coffee. While most like to put a bit of cream in their coffee, Prairie Street decided to put a touch of coffee in their cream (ale).

To contribute more to the fundraiser, pick up a Fire Dept. Coffee RED Tee, RED Mug, or Remember Everyone Deployed (RED) Patch. Fire Dept. Coffee will be donating 100% of the proceeds to the Wheels 4 Warrior Fundraiser. Available at: http://www.firedeptcoffee.com/charity.

Wheels 4 Warriors is still searching for a local wounded veteran to honor. Visit http://www.iaff413.org, click on "Wheels 4 Warriors" tab to see all rules, and nominate the local hero in need. Nominations will be accepted through May 30, 2018.
