Media Advisory: American Chemistry Council offers industry experts to comment on G7 plastics charter


OTTAWA, June 9, 2018 /CNW/ - The American Chemistry Council offers the following experts to be available for comment to media organizations reporting on the Plastics Charter adopted by the G7 Summit in Quebec.

Carol Hochu, President and CEO, Canadian Plastics Industry Association
Carol Hochu has held the position of President and CEO of Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) since January 1, 2012. Recognized and respected as a knowledgeable advocate for the environment and a distinguished industry speaker, Carol is listed in the "Who's Who of Canadian Women" and "Women in the Lead."

With nearly 30 years' experience and leadership in the not-for-profit sector, Carol previously served as the Chief of Staff Executive of Ontario Electronic Stewardship, the Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association and the Confectionery Manufacturers Association of Canada.

Carol holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of Guelph.

Bob Masterson, President and CEO, Chemistry Industry Association of Canada
Bob Masterson has served as the President and CEO of Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) since December 2015. As the public face of the Canadian chemistry industry's public policy activities, Bob is responsible for assisting Canada's dynamic chemistry industry in growing global market and investment share, and in meeting Canada's expectations for responsible practices.

Bob first joined the CIAC in 2010 as the Vice President of Responsible Care. Prior to his roles at CPIA, Bob was Director of Regulatory Affairs with the Cement Association of Canada, where he developed and led the association's strategies.

Bob holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy and Administration from Carleton University in Ottawa, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Applied Mathematics from Queen's University in Kingston.

Isabelle Des Chênes, Executive Vice President, Chemistry Industry Association of Canada
Isabelle Des Chênes joined the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) in November 2017 and is responsible for the strategic communications of the Association.

Prior to joining the CIAC team, Isabelle was Director of Communications for the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA). With more than eleven years of experience in the natural resources sector, having worked for the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) and for Forestry Innovation Investment, Inc. in British Columbia, Isabelle is not new to natural resources communications.

Isabelle holds a Bachelor of Communications degree from the University of Ottawa.
