Results Physiotherapy Receives Purple Heart Business Award

FRANKLIN, Tenn., July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- To honor Results Physiotherapy for their work with veterans, especially combat-wounded, the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 457 presented staff at their North Clarksville, Tennessee clinic with the chapter's first-ever statewide Purple Heart Business award. Purple Heart State Department Commander Todd Shaw and Senior Vice Commander Catherine Shaw, along with member Dave Ross, presented the award to Results Leadership.

"Helping our military personnel ? both active and retired ? to overcome pain and physical challenges that come from pushing their bodies to the very limit is something we all take tremendous pride in being a part of," said Results President and CEO, Tony Ueber.

Todd and wife Catherine are Army veterans who have overcome physical injuries and chronic-pain through Result's methods. Both were awarded Purple Hearts, Catherine for wounds sustained as a medic serving in Afghanistan and Todd for multiple blast wounds as an infantryman in Iraq. He was wheelchair-bound as a result of numerous spine injuries and surgeries when first referred to Results 10 years ago.

"Todd came to us in a wheelchair but walked out the door on his own and is still walking today because of his dedication and commitment," said Ueber. "The best results occur when our team and the patient are all working together to achieve the same goals."

Todd said Results "hands-on" form of Physiotherapy "really does work" and "involves much more than just exercise." He said he's taking far less pain medication than he was before finding Results.

"Physical therapy is often thought of as something a person does after major surgery," said Ueber, "such as a knee replacement; when in fact, physical therapy should be a first-line treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

"We recognize opioid abuse is an epidemic that kills thousands every year," continued Ueber. "More conservative, non-invasive options have to be part of the solution. We help our patients understand why they are in pain, and show them how to strengthen their bodies to eliminate that pain for the long term."

"When someone has a nagging ache or pain, we want them calling their PT, not reaching for the medicine cabinet or restructuring their lives to compensate for an issue they think is their new normal," said Mark Tinsey, Chief Marketing Officer for Results. "We provide free consultations at all our clinics if someone just wants to talk to a therapist to see if PT can help."

Results currently serves patients and communities at over 150 clinics in nine states. A complete listing of Results clinics can be found at http://www.ResultsPT.com/locations.

Therapy helped the Shaws, and, while "Treating veterans like Todd can be physically challenging," said Results Clinic Director John Hackett and Todd's therapist, "from a mental perspective, we lock in pretty quickly. I think military personnel understand results won't come unless we work together, and that's one of the reasons they often exceed expectations ? they know they'll get out of it what they put into it. With patients like Todd, I help get muscles firing so they're ready for activity. It makes a difference and helps patients progress faster. We're here to serve our military community, and our community as a whole."
