Renovation of Edmundston Shelter

EDMUNDSTON, NB, Aug. 17, 2018 /CNW/ - An official announcement was held today at L'Escale Madavic, Inc in Edmundston. This facility serves the community by offering a safe haven and support to those who have experienced family violence.

The announcement was made by René Arseneault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Minister Responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and by Francine Landry, Minister of Opportunities New Brunswick on behalf of Stephen Horsman. • Through the Investment in Affordable Housing Agreement signed by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and the Province of New Brunswick, the governments of Canada and New Brunswick provided $342 000 in joint funding to renovate a shelter facility for women and children in the Edmundston region.
