Bloomberg Government Releases 2018 Fall Congressional Legislative Outlook

WASHINGTON, Sept. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloomberg Government today issued the fall edition of Hill Watch, a semi-annual, in-depth look at the 2018 Capitol Hill agenda. Agriculture: House and Senate negotiators plan a meeting this week on the farm bill before the current version lapses September 30. Work requirements for the supplemental nutrition program remain a sticking point.

Election Security: Despite lingering concerns about the vulnerability of elections systems, senators scrapped a markup of a bill authorizing grants. 

Transportation: September 30 is also the expiration of the Federal Aviation Administration. Autonomous vehicles legislation could hitch a ride on a reauthorization bill. 

Taxes/Retirement: Republicans are eyeing a follow-up to last year's tax cut law, as well as possible changes to laws on retirement savings.
