Northwestern Home Opener To Include Special Skydive Start

EVANSTON, Ill., Sept. 8, 2018 Saturday, September 8th, 2018, Team Fastraxtm will make the Wildcats Ryan Field opener unforgettable with their fan favorite, patriotic American Flag demonstration jump. At 11am, the Northwestern Wildcats will kick off against their Atlantic Coast Conference adversary, the Duke Blue Devils.

Just before the game, right as the National Anthem starts to play, Team Fastraxtm will jump in with their majestic 2,000 sq. ft. American Flag, a Military flag, the Northwestern flag, red white and blue streamers, and colored smoke. The show will be displayed on the scoreboard with the Team's live air-to-ground video feed, so spectators at Ryan Field can enjoy the experience on a whole new level.

According to their website, Northwestern won its ninth-straight game and eighth-straight Big Ten contest with a 31-27 victory at Purdue in the season opener. The nine-game winning streak overall and eight-game mark in Big Ten play are the longest since the 'Cats pulled off the feat during the 1995 season. NU owns the longest winning streak among Power 5 teams. NU also picked up its fifth-straight win over Purdue, marking the longest winning streak versus the Boilermakers in program history. NU is 10-9 all-time versus the Blue Devils with wins in three of the last four meetings.
