The hurricane is projected to reach South Carolina late Thursday evening; however Nephron will remain open for business in order to continuously produce drug shortage medications. Products including Saline, Sodium Bicarbonate, and controlled substances are readily available to be ordered.

"We saw first-hand the emergency hurricanes can cause on the drug shortage crisis after hurricane season in 2017," said Lou Kennedy, Nephron CEO. "We want people to know that we are continuing to work, to ensure we provide hospitals with the products they desperately need."

The state-of-the-art facility was built to withstand natural disasters such as hurricanes. The 408,000 square foot building is equipped with backup generators ready to take over within seconds if power is lost. Additionally, Nephron is conveniently located next to South Carolina Electric and Gas Company, allowing for immediate assistance if necessary.
