Institutional Investor Announces Wall Street's Best Equity Research Analysts on the 47th Annual All-America Research Team Survey

NEW YORK, Oct. 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As equity research continues to evolve, from the unbundling resulting from MiFID II to the advances in technology surrounding the distribution of research, holding onto a top position on Institutional Investor's All-America Research Team is more competitive than ever.

More than 3,900 votes were cast by some of the most influential investors in Institutional Investor's 47th annual ranking of Wall Street's best equity research analysts. This year's survey represents the views of 1,359 institutions managing an estimated $13 trillion in U.S. equities. The longevity of the All-America Research Team ranking ? which launched in 1972, three years before May Day ? is evidence of the ability of sell-side research to evolve, adjust, and change, as demonstrated by this year's winners.

J.P. Morgan took home first place for the third consecutive year with the bank's analysts recognized in 46 of the 60 investment sectors covered in the 2018 All-America Research Team survey. Bank of America held onto second place with 34 total team positions, while Morgan Stanley edged out Evercore ISI in a very close race for third place. Citi jumped two rungs from last year to land fifth place with 25 total team positions.

This year's top firms include:

1J.P. Morgan
2Bank of America Merrill Lynch
3Morgan Stanley
4Evercore ISI
5Citi
6Barclays
6UBS
8RBC
9Wells Fargo Securities
10Bernstein

A total of 353 analysts and analyst teams from 28 firms are cited on the roster, which is limited to the top three squads in each sector, plus runners-up where applicable.

The complete list of published winners can be found on InstitutionalInvestor.com.

The full report names 2,038 analysts from 110 firms, across 53 industry sectors, and spanning seven macroeconomic categories who met minimum-vote and other eligibility criteria. For more information contact Esther Weisz at +1212 224 3307 or [email protected].
