MilitaryHire Announces 2018 Top 110 Veteran-Friendly Employers

CLAYTON, N.C., Nov. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Ahead of Veteran's Day weekend, MilitaryHire.com announced its 2018 Top 110 Veteran Friendly Employer award. The award recognizes employers with strategic veteran hiring initiatives. This will be MilitaryHire's first award recognizing employers. Our veterans give 110% effort in everything they do, and to honor that work ethic, this recognition names 110 top veteran employers who are giving back to the veteran community. The recognized employers are recognized for veteran-specific hiring initiatives, philanthropy work, training programs and more. The list of companies receiving the award can be found at https://www.militaryhire.com/veteran-friendly-employer.servlet

"We appreciate our fellow veterans for all of their hard work, and sacrifices and it's time that we pay it forward to them," said MilitaryHire CEO Sean Pritchard. "This award was created to highlight companies that are serving our veterans, and to also help veterans successfully transition from the service to civilian positions."

Veterans are highly-skilled workers with learned behaviors, values, and skills. Veterans have extensive training with weapons, technology, and machinery; as well as, heightened stress-response in high-stress and/or dangerous situations. However, in 2017, the U.S. Bureau of Statistics Labor Statistics reported that 3.7 of veterans were unemployed. Reasons for this unemployment vary from local economic conditions to difficulty navigating the civilian hiring process.

Since 1999, MilitaryHire.com has connected more than 500,000 veterans with top-tier employers. Developed, managed and maintained by a team of both military veterans and corporate hiring authorities, they are guided by one singular mission: To Serve Those Who Served. With hundreds of resources and contacts, MilitaryHire eases the stress of the initial to civilian life and any future career changes after transition.

"It is our hope that by highlighting veteran hiring initiatives within companies that we can bring awareness the struggle that many veterans experience when transitioning to civilian position, and to continue to close the gap of the number of veterans who return home without a job," said Pritchard.
