Defenders-Gateway Launches Mobile App Platform to Honor Military, First Responders, and Families of the Fallen


ST. LOUIS, Dec. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Defenders-Gateway announced today the release of its mobile app, now available on both Apple and Android platforms. The app serves to accomplish the mission of Defenders-Gateway: to honor our nation's military, first responders and families of the fallen by providing them direct access to exclusive discounts on products, services and opportunities delivered, through the app, by a national network of businesses and organizations that recognize the sacrifice of our nation's defenders.

Defenders-Gateway CEO Carol Watanabe is also the founder/director of a charity which has served more than 60,000 military children since its inception nearly 15 years ago. "The Defenders Gateway App has been specifically designed to honor and positively impact the lives of 40 million Americans who deserve special recognition," said Watanabe. "Our business partners featured on our app gain instant national promotion. App users instantly locate the business and the unique discount or special offer, directing that Defender to the business' door."

The App is only available to qualified military and first responder personnel and to families of fallen heroes. "This was important to us," Watanabe said. "Our technology has a proprietary verification process that ensures there is no stolen honor."

Watanabe's staff is comprised exclusively of honorably discharged and retired service members, active duty spouses, and gold star family members.

The unique structure of Defenders-Gateway also offers a fundraising opportunity for non-profit organizations who can raise funds for every business they sign up to participate. "Everyone wins," Watanabe says.

The "Defenders Gateway App" has the official support of military organizations across the country, including the Association of the U.S. Army, and has partnered with the International Franchise Association Foundation and VetFran organizations that share the mission of honoring our nation's defenders.
