York County FCU Honors Local Veterans with Generous Giveback

SANFORD, Maine, Dec. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- York County Federal Credit Union recently donated over 50 pounds of pantry items and $2,000 worth of blankets, hats, gloves, socks, and gift cards to the Sanford Vet Center following their annual Help for our Heroes promotion.

The promotion ran November 5-10 and included a food drive in all five branches, plus a $35 donation for every loan generated that week.

"We were honored to be able to give back to local veterans for the second year in a row," said Andrea Michaud, Brand Advocate at York County FCU.  "Our credit union takes pride in our community involvement and giveback efforts, and we are thankful for the members and employees who helped make this initiative a success."

The Sanford Vet Center offers individual and group counseling for veterans, service members, and their families. Other services include community outreach and education, employment referral, and referral to other VA services.
