Armed Services YMCA Appoints Andrea Inserra to Board of Directors


WASHINGTON, March 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) is happy to announce the appointment of Andrea Inserra, Executive Vice President at global technology management consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc., to its Board of Directors.

"The ASYMCA is excited to welcome Andrea to our Board of Directors," said Armed Services YMCA President William French. "We look forward to the experience and insight that Andrea will bring. Her guidance will be key to fulfilling our mission to Strengthen Our Military Family."

Inserra leads group operations and integrated market strategy for Booz Allen's Global Defense Group. During her 20 years with the firm, she has held several leadership positions across federal, military and civilian markets, guiding strategic initiatives to drive business growth, maximize financial performance and increase diversity and inclusion. She has led several worldwide talent engagement transformations for Booz Allen delivering increased accountability, reduced risk and improved talent retention. Serving as a change agent and champion for global diversity and inclusion; she chairs the firm's Veterans Agenda to accelerate initiatives serving veterans, military spouses and military families by providing best-in-class benefits, partnering with nonprofit organizations, and engaging in community volunteerism.

Inserra also leads programs to enhance the well-being and psychological health for service members, veterans, and military families. She implemented a community-based model to facilitate collaboration and improve the integration across federal, private, and nonprofit organizations in addressing the challenges servicemen and women face when reintegrating to the civil sector.

Prior to joining Booz Allen, Inserra served in engineering positions for Mobil Oil Corporation and Armstrong World Industries. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States (AMSUS), the Haskell Company and the Catholic University of America School of Engineering Board of Advisors.

She holds an MBA from Pennsylvania State University and a BS in Industrial Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
