"Our annual Ball is a memorable night for all who attend, and it helps benefit a great cause," explains Nicole Motsek, Executive Director of the EOD Warrior Foundation. "It is a tremendous honor to have Congressman Mast as the Keynote Speaker for this year's event. This is a night to remember those EOD warriors who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and to honor their families."

Congressman Mast is himself an EOD Badge wearer and is a combat-decorated U.S. Soldier who prior to his election to congress served more than 12 years in the U.S. Army, earning decorations to include the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal for Valor, the Purple Heart Medal, and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.

"EOD techs are the ones that are called when our warriors who deal with snipers and being shot at, want to back up and go the other way because of explosive ordnance," Rep. Mast said. "They are the defenders of those who defend this country, and it's an honor to be able to help commemorate the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to keep their brothers and sisters in arms safe."

The EOD Ball on Saturday night will culminate the week's events which includes the EOD Memorial Ceremony held earlier that day at NAVSCOLEOD, Range Rd, Niceville / Eglin AFB property. Other events include a golf tournament Friday morning at Bluewater Bay Golf Course and a live Auction on Friday evening also at the Convention Center. The EOD Ball will host around 1,000 people for an evening of speeches, tradition and dancing.
