Nike Volleyball Camps to Run New Camp in Baltimore, Maryland

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., April 26, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Maryland Nike Volleyball Camp at Johns Hopkins University will be run by longtime Nike Volleyball Camp Director Matt Troy, who was just announced as the new Head Coach of the Blue Jays.

Before Johns Hopkins, Troy was the Head Volleyball Coach at University of Mary Washington for six seasons where he posted a 133-57 record with the Eagles and took them to the NCAA Tournament multiple times. This is not his first time leading the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays. He was the head coach from 2010-2012 and made two NCAA Tournament appearances with them. His outstanding record collectively earned him four Coach of the Year honors as well as the 2016 AVCA North Region Coach of the Year.

Troy will be back to run the Maryland volleyball camp this upcoming summer.

This new camp will be offered on two different dates. Players looking to experience an overnight option and experience the Johns Hopkins University dorms can choose between the All Skills and Advanced program that will run July 1-3. This camp is designed to have 6-7 hours of daily training under Troy and his staff. The All Skills camp will focus on all aspects of volleyball and is geared towards all ability levels, while the Advanced program will have highly intensive drills used by collegiate athletes, and will focus more on live game-play.

An All-Skills day option will be offered later in July and will run 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. every day. Players will still be able to train under Troy, and experience what it is like to be a Blue Jay. Over the course of four days, players will experience drills and games to help build fundamental and increase volleyball IQ.
