Media Advisory - Last opportunity for media accreditation for 75th anniversary of D-Day and Battle of Normandy commemorations in Normandy, France


OTTAWA, May 13, 2019 /CNW/ - An official Government of Canada delegation will participate in events in Normandy, France from June 3-8, 2019, to mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. The delegation will include D-Day and Normandy Campaign Veterans, representatives from Veterans and Indigenous organizations, parliamentarians and youth. A contingent of the Canadian Armed Forces including units and branches involved in D-Day and the Battle of Normandy, will also participate in ceremonies and events.

Veterans Affairs Canada will host three ceremonies open to media on June 5, 6  and 7, respectively. Accredited members of the media will be provided with a designated area for the ceremony. There may be photo and interview opportunities with delegation members.

Registration is mandatory for all of these ceremonies. The last chance for media to register for accreditation is May 15, 2019.
