Media Advisory - The Government of Canada Celebrates Hometown Heroes at Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites
VICTORIA, May 16, 2019 /CNW/ - The Honourable Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Accessibility and Public Services and Procurement, and the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, will participate in a commemorative ceremony to pay tribute to two British Columbian Hometown Heroes.
Hometown Heroes is a community-based initiative that honours men and women, both Canadian Armed Forces and civilian, who contributed to the cause of freedom.
The commemorative event is organized by Parks Canada in partnership with the Royal Canadian Navy and the Royal Canadian Legion.
