Transformations Treatment Center Going Above and Beyond to Provide Help for Our Heroes

DELRAY BEACH, Fla., July 30, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Transformations Treatment Center has officially launched a new website dedicated solely to their military veterans and first responders substance abuse and mental health treatment program called Help For Our Heroes. The new website, http://www.HelpForOurHeroes.com, caters specifically to the military and first responder population, providing program and facility information, resource articles, alumni testimonials, and a number of other pages connecting our heroes with the help they need.

Program founder and licensed therapist, Carlos Farina, is a war veteran who also spent 30 years as a law enforcement officer and he truly understands the unique needs of veterans and first responders as it pertains to substance abuse and mental health treatment. Carlos arrived at Transformations in 2013 where he began working with a small population of first responder clients doing group therapy and one-on-one sessions. The following year, Transformations formed a partnership with the United States Department of Veteran Affairs and began receiving military veteran clients which prompted Carlos to create a program devoted to these brave men and women.

The branding of this program along with the launch of its own website has been a long time coming. "Having a website for the Help For Our Heroes program means there is a safe place for our brothers and sisters in the military and first responder professions to come and seek they help they so desperately need and deserve," Carlos explains. "Trauma, alcoholism, depression, and substance abuse impacts the entire family. Our program will give our heroes purpose, meaning, and the hope they will need in order to live joyful, productive lives with their families."

The goal of the Help For Our Heroes program is to help our veterans and first responders build a foundation for a healthy recovery. We treat the whole person, not just the addiction or co-occurring disorder. This population is more susceptible to developing PTSD and trauma-related mental health issues which can have an enormous impact on a person's overall health and wellbeing. We utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in order to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories by accessing and processing them to bring these memories to an adaptive resolution. EMDR is just one of the many treatment modalities implemented by the Help For Our Heroes program which you can learn about on the new website.

The Help For Our Heroes program has treated hundreds of emergency personnel nationwide, long before there was even a website for the program. Ever since Carlos arrived at Transformations, he has been adamant about serving the men and women who put their lives on the line for us on a daily basis. "Veterans and first responders no longer have to suffer in silence, and by doing nothing, we remain a victim of our own dark world. There IS help, and we are here to help."
