PenFed CEO James Schenck Signs National Pledge to Prioritize Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing in the Workplace


TYSONS, Va., Nov. 14, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- PenFed Credit Union President/CEO and PenFed Foundation CEO James Schenck joined top U.S. business leaders in signing the Pledge to Prioritize Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing in the Workplace. The signing took place yesterday at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where Schenck serves as the only credit union official on the U.S. Chamber's Board of Directors. Schenck participated in the signing alongside senior leaders from nearly 30 Fortune 500 companies and the federal government.

As part of the United States President's Roadmap to Empower Veterans and End the National Tragedy of Suicide (PREVENTS) Executive Order Task Force, PenFed and the American business community are working with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Department of Veterans Affairs to help identify and develop best practices around mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.

Through signing the pledge, PenFed is committed to prioritizing mental health in the workplace and undertaking the following core actions to effect change:

  2. Educate Employees and Promote Awareness
  3. Provide Access to Assistance and Services
  4. Assess and Measure
  5. Build a Culture of Inclusion
  6. Continuous Evaluation and Ongoing Collaboration
