Embrace Home Loans Manager Patrick Holland Helps Veterans with Free Service Dogs

MIDDLETOWN, R.I., April 23, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Embrace Home Loans, a prominent mortgage lender, is recognizing Patrick Holland, the manager of its Fairfax, VA, branch, for his work helping veterans acquire service dogs free of charge.

Holland is working with Veterans Moving Forward, a Dulles, VA-based nonprofit organization that raises and provides service dogs for veterans with physical and/or mental health challenges at no cost to the veteran.

Holland, who comes from a military family, said he visited Veterans Moving Forward's facility, learned about their purpose, and immediately decided to partner with the non-profit. "Just sitting and watching these dogs being trained and in action, I knew I had to be involved," he said.

Holland has already personally donated $2,500 to the organization ? part of which was matched by Embrace Home Loans ? and he plans to donate a total of $6,000 this year. "I want to be responsible for placing one or two dogs with a veteran every year," he said.

Eventually, once it's safe to have group events, Holland says his branch also plans to donate time and money to help Veterans Moving Forward. "Our branch does a lot of community givebacks and service hours," he said. "Embrace really encourages its employees to get involved in charitable endeavors."

Holland noted that partnering with Veterans Moving Forward felt natural to him, as he and Embrace work with and help veterans get VA loans. Holland indicated that through Veterans Moving Forward, he and the team at Embrace Home Loans will help educate veterans on how to make the most of their VA mortgage benefits.
