Top Retired Senior-Level Military Leaders Join Our Community Salutes National Advisory Council

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Dec. 8, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Our Community Salutes (http://www.ourcommunitysalutes.org), a national non-profit organization that honors high school seniors who plan to enlist into the military after graduation, announced today the formation of a National Advisory Council....a historic "who's-who" of retired senior-level military leaders representing all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.

"We are honored and humbled by the willingness these amazing individuals, who collectively have served over 420 years in the military, to serve our organization, and in turn, continue to serve our nation", said Dr. Kenneth Hartman, a former US Army officer and founder and president of Our Community Salutes.

Helping communities support the next generation of service members is the primary mission of OCS. Since 2009, hundreds of OCS Recognition Ceremonies have been conducted throughout the country, with thousands of people attending in appreciation of the young men and woman entering military service. OCS online resources help new enlistees (who typically serve for only 48-60 months) make a successful transition into and out of military life.

"Now more than ever, it's important that these high school enlistees, and their parents, know that their community and their country is behind their decision to serve our nation", said OCS NAC member and retired Army Major General Jeffrey Snow, the former Commanding General of the US Army Recruiting

Fellow OCS NAC member John Wayne Troxell, who recently retired as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (the most senior enlisted member of the US Armed Service), and who himself enlisted in the Army after high school, added, "I can't think of a more important time to support the work of OCS and its mission to recognize young people who have put their country before themselves".
