NEW YORK, July 13, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York City announces the official launch of their new Medical Esthetics Program this month. The program offers a variety of hands-on training programs and workshops designed for medical professionals who are currently working in or transitioning to the medical esthetics field.

This new branch of Swedish Institute is intended exclusively for licensed medical professionals, including MDs, Dentists, RNs, LPNs, NPs and PAs (along with certain clinically trained estheticians that meet eligibility requirements) who are looking to expand their practice into the field of medical esthetics.

Swedish Institute Medical Esthetics (SIME) was created in partnership with Swedish Institute's sister school, Atelier Esthétique Institute of Esthetics, which has been a New York State licensing esthetics school for the past 35 years. The program highlights a host of treatments, including PRP Injecting, laser & IPL therapy, non-surgical face lifts and body sculpting, RF/Microneedling, EPAT and more. The program is designed to keep the practitioner up to date and current with patient demands.

SIME partnered with a number of device companies so that their students are trained on modern equipment. Their partners include Candela Medical for the NordlysTM Laser Therapy (recently featured on the TODAY Show); BTL Industries for EMsculptTM muscle toning and fat removal (featured in Modern Aesthetics, Cosmo and Elle), among others.

The Medical Esthetics Program Director, Kim Laudati is an Atelier Esthetique Institute of Esthetics alumna (class of 2008). Laudati says, "I am thrilled to be directing this new program. It's exciting to be leading the way for a whole new generation of esthetics providers."

The Medical Director Dr. James Mihalcik, a Yale graduate and former NYU Medical Center Fellow and Chief Resident, oversees the program's medical components and compliance with NYS laws.

Swedish Institute President and CEO Michael Bottrill states, "I couldn't be prouder of our new Medical Esthetics team who has worked tirelessly to provide an esthetics training program. We are one of the first providers of laser therapy training in New York, and we offer twelve certifications upon completion."

Each of the training modules last one to seven days and range from under $600 to $6000. For the most updated course schedule, visit the SI Medical Esthetics Program website.
