The Collaborative Celebrates 50 Years of Designing Toledo's Most Recognizable Sites
The Collaborative, an architecture, design and planning firm with offices in Toledo and Ann Arbor, is celebrating its 50th year in business in 2023. Over its five decades, The Collaborative has established itself as a leader in corporate, civic, education, non-profit and health and wellness projects.
"This is an exciting time for our team, being able to celebrate 50 years of designing spaces that people live, work and learn in," said Ray Micham, Principal at The Collaborative. "From the beginning, our practice has been centered in collaboration ? collaborating with our clients and communities to design environments that express the unique character of the people and organizations they serve."
In Northwest Ohio, many residents will recognize The Collaborative as the firm that designed or served as Architect of Record on some of the region's most well-known sites: Fifth Third Field Mud Hens Stadium, Imagination Station's KeyBank Discovery Theater, the Huntington Center Arena and the recently renovated Glass City Center. The Collaborative's wide-ranging portfolio includes more than 80 national, state and local design awards.
Founded in 1973, The Collaborative is led by six Principals who oversee a 45-person team of architects, landscape architects, interior designers and planners.
"The Collaborative was founded on the belief that successful organizations thrive by fostering teams and creating an environment for growth," said Dave Serra, Principal at The Collaborative. "For 50 years, we have valued the insight and creative thought of our oldest principal and youngest intern. This collective mindset is what creates excellent work."
To celebrate this momentous occasion, The Collaborative is planning several events throughout the year, with a focus on charitable giving and community engagement. These will include upcoming days of giving in both Toledo and Ann Arbor.
