Codenotary Closes 2022 With Record Sales Growth

Codenotary, leaders in software supply chain protection, today announced that the company has closed 2022 with record sales and expansion into the enterprise customer segment with best-in-class supply chain security platform, Trustcenter.

"Significantly, while the majority of our customers use Trustcenter to secure traditional applications environments, one-third of client's use cases are leading-edge cloud-native deployments," said Moshe Bar, co-founder and CEO, Codenotary. "Overall, we are very pleased with the number of new customers and the sales growth in the U.S. and Europe with customers that in aggregate are managing 8 billion software artifacts."

In its fourth year of operation, Codenotary secured $18.5 million in Series B financing in 2022, and added customers that include some of the largest banks in the U.S. and Europe, pharmaceutical companies, government users, plus many technology companies. Helping the company grow in every region, Codenotary has a network of 70 resellers in the U.S. and Europe and recently initiated expanding in Asia.

"SBOMs are becoming ubiquitous and there is increasing demand from all corners of the world as a great opportunity for resellers, and it is our mission at Codenotary to make these SBOMs actionable and part of the DevSecOps standard security portfolio," said Bar.

In terms of product development, the company made three releases of its flagship product, Trustcenter including version 3.3 which became the first to add a pervasive search capability to find software artifacts that may present problems, along with their change history which includes the runtime of a container. The deep search capability can be used as part of an organization's compliance, auditing, and forensics activity to maintain a secure software supply chain. Significantly, it increases overall application security by enforcing that only trusted and approved artifacts get built into apps.

"This is a significant change that is sorely needed ? taking SBOMs beyond a list of ingredients ? which then allows internal and external users of software to make sure that only components they approve are in the apps they use," said Bar.

Codenotary is the primary maintainer of immudb, the first and only open source enterprise-class immutable database with data permanence at scale for demanding applications -- up to billions of transactions per day. There have been more than 15 million downloads of immudb to date, which serves as the foundation for Codenotary's supply chain security products. Thousands of organizations worldwide use immudb to secure their data from tampering rather than cumbersome and complex blockchain technologies.

Codenotary helps enterprises comply with the U.S. Executive Order on Improving the Nation's Cybersecurity, which includes maintaining a Software Bill of Materials (SBOM), as well as the SLSA security framework to ensure trust in the software supply chain.
