SecureIQLab Launches First-Ever Advanced Cloud Firewall Testing for Leading Security Vendors

RSA Conference?SecureIQLab, the premier cloud validation provider, today announced a first-of-its-kind Advanced Cloud Firewall (ACFW) testing to evaluate the ability of leading cloud security solutions to withstand a multitude of cyberattacks.

SecureIQLab's objective testing bridges the gap between market research and technology research, providing empirical data that validates the claims of cloud security solutions and identifies potential weaknesses in their security solutions. The test period runs from May 1 to July 18, and interested organizations are invited to participate. All leading enterprise advanced cloud firewall vendors are currently on the shortlist of participating companies.

As cybersecurity threats become increasingly sophisticated and complex, security vendors must ensure that their solutions are evolving to defend the most valuable possession of any enterprise: its data. Additionally, the explosive growth of cloud computing in recent years has made it even more crucial for advanced cloud firewalls to comprehensively protect cloud-based resources from unprecedented cyberthreats.

Despite the vast number of security solutions on the market, 83% of companies still experience a data breach at some point. The rise of remote work in recent years has accelerated this trend and has increased the need for secure, remote access to cloud-based resources and advanced cloud firewalls that can provide real-time visibility into network traffic and threat activity.

"Security vendors are all touting their advanced firewalls, but even one weakness in the system can cost an organization millions of dollars in damage," said Jayendra Pathak, chief scientist at SecureIQLab. "SecureIQLab works to prevent this by providing the advanced testing needed to help security companies evaluate and improve their solutions in today's complex cyber landscape."

No other company has tested at this depth and breadth of security and performance. SecureIQLab evaluates with a focus on security efficacy, operational efficiency and return on security investment (ROSI) to help enterprises have a more comprehensive view of their security solutions.

SecureIQLab's testing process combines elements of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and the Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain Model to evaluate solutions on three main criteria: security, performance and operational capabilities. The criteria were selected to create test results demonstrating the product's ability to prevent attacks and quickly resolve incidents.

"Firewalls are still a staple component of an organization's security stack, and their effectiveness can't be taken for granted or assumed," said David Ellis, VP of research and corporate relations at SecureIQLab. "Without empirical data validating the efficacy of these security solutions, it can be easy to have a false sense of security. That's why we created SecureIQLab."

In addition to their Advanced Cloud Firewall (ACFW) testing, SecureIQLab will conduct tests for Cloud Web Application Firewall (Cloud WAF) v3.0, Extended Detection and Response (XDR) and Cloud Ransomware Protection. Interested enterprise security vendors are invited to contact SecureIQLab at [email protected].
