NDICA Presents the 1st Annual Safe Space Block Party: A Day of Fun, Learning, and Community Connection


The National Diversity and Inclusion Cannabis Alliance (NDICA) is excited to announce the 1st Annual Safe Space Block Party on April 29th, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at South Central Community Center, 1021 E 83rd St, Chicago, IL 60619. This family-friendly event, supported by the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA), promotes a safe and inclusive environment for all.

The Safe Space Block Party features a Kid Zone with engaging activities such as Me & My Bear and face painting by Tristan Payton. Free food will be provided by Jerk & Soul Food and Los Cuates de Juanita's, ensuring a diverse and delicious culinary experience.

Attendees can enjoy tunes from DJ IJE and a special performance by Chicago's own Avehre. South Suburban College's Barbering Program offers free haircuts to those in attendance, making it a truly inclusive and uplifting event.

The event emphasizes social equity, offering free record expungement services and hosting a panel on Social Equity in Cannabis. Presented by Black Cannabis Magazine, the panel includes industry license holders Victoria Williams, Berwyn Thompkins, Frank Cowan, Erika Andrews, and David Scott, moderated by journalist Mark Braboy of Rolling Stone.

Raquel Bolton, Workforce Development for NDICA, says, "Our mission is to empower the community by providing opportunities and resources that foster growth and inclusivity. The Safe Space Block Party is a testament to our commitment to that mission."
