AVIVA and OMNIVISION to Demonstrate Automotive Camera Systems Using ASA Motion Link at AutoSens Detroit 2023

AVIVA Links Inc., the automotive connectivity company enabling the most advanced multi-gigabit links for in-vehicle networks, today announced that it will be at AutoSens Detroit 2023 demonstrating OMNIVISION's in-vehicle camera sensor to processor connectivity using AVIVA's ASA Motion Link technology. A multi-gigabit standards-based solution has been the critical piece needed to drive the development of a new generation of intelligent and autonomous vehicles and represents a significant milestone for automotive manufacturers.

The demonstration will take place in the OMNIVISION stand #25 from May 9-11, 2023. The two companies have been collaborating since early 2023 to develop Automotive Serdes Alliance (ASA)-based sensors that combine AVIVA's premier high-speed connectivity solutions with OMNIVISION's leading image sensor technologies. Leveraging the best of both AVIVA and OMNIVISION, the new camera systems are designed in small form factors to ease integration into automobiles and to decrease manufacturing costs. The systems are also extremely secure because they incorporate ASA-specified encryption technology.

The demo with OMNIVISION will showcase how AVIVA's best-in-class chipset enables high speed communication over an ASA link for in-vehicle remote sensor applications. AVIVA's scalable portfolio of ICs and software stacks allow OEMs to develop highly optimized solutions, while significantly exceeding the performance, power and solution size metrics of the more traditional solutions in use today. Key features of the chipset include:

• Highest Link Speed ? Quad port devices support an aggregated bandwidth of 64 Gigabits per second, with up to 16G line rate per port.
• Lowest Power Consumption ? Time Division Duplex (TDD) PHY architecture reduces the power consumption per gigabit to less than half compared to other standards-based solutions, enabling smaller camera and sensor modules with better thermals.
• Highest Reliability Links ? Non-overlapping signals and Forward Error Correction (FEC) ensure highly robust links with excellent Signal-to-Noise ratios (SNR). This eliminates the need for re-transmission and ensures the lowest deterministic latency.
