PTSD is marked by clear biological changes as well as psychological symptoms. These symptoms can include nightmares, intrusive recollections, flashbacks, and psychological distress. Someone with PTSD can be triggered by loud noises, smells, or unexpected movements (e.g. feeling jumpy or on edge). They may have difficulty sleeping and feel detached or estranged from the world and their family and friends. One might actively avoid a person or a place that reminds them of a tragic event and brings on overwhelming symptoms. As a result, one's ability to function in social or family life can become significantly impaired. Individuals with PTSD may also develop additional disorders such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, alcohol, and substance abuse, among others which often worsens over time. The treatment often requires medications that help to reduce the anxiety, depression, and disorders associated with it.

The Battle Back Foundation will be the #1 resource for our nation's police officers and offer them the much-needed help in 1) Mindset Education 2) Clinical Resources 3) Financial Assistance and 4) Community Involvement with donations going directly to assist in these areas. Our heroes help us in our time of need, let's rise together and help them in their time of need.
