Accresa Releases Second Annual Subscription Care Benchmark Report

Accresa, a digital platform that helps healthcare providers offer subscription care plans, released its second annual Subscription Care Benchmark Report today. The report nearly doubled the number of respondents from last year's survey, presenting feedback from over 450 employers and 14,400 individuals from diverse backgrounds and industries to provide insight into the demand for subscription care.

After discussing the origin of Subscription Care, the report's survey examines primary care experiences, patient-doctor relationships, and individuals' interest in and expectations from subscription care plans. Employers expressed dissatisfaction with rising healthcare costs and what is currently included in their current health plans, both likely contributors to their increased willingness to incorporate subscription care into those plans. Individuals cited an interest in a wide range of service offerings and more frequent healthcare visits to be included in their health plans; as a result, the personalized and flexible nature of subscription care models proves to be more appealing.

Cyndi Morales, Operations Manager for Accresa, commented on the importance of the benchmark report and how its information is crucial to understanding the healthcare landscape.

"While subscription care has become a prevalent way for members to access efficient care with price transparency, there is still limited insight into how subscription care fits into employer benefits. In just our second year performing this study, the sheer number of responses speaks to the increased interest in subscription care as part of the employer-based healthcare offering. Accresa will continue to expand on these efforts to gather and share information that helps the ecosystem better understand the current and future needs and expectations of the employer and employee population around subscription care," notes Morales.

In addition to employers' and individuals' changing requirements for adequate healthcare, the report highlights how new legislation strengthens the case for Subscription Care. The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 (CAA) and the Transparency in Coverage Final Rule work together to encourage high-quality and cost-effective healthcare options.
