General Inception Celebrates Its First Anniversary with Over 35 Companies

General Inception (GI), the first company Igniter, today celebrated its one-year anniversary of co-founding category-defining companies by setting a solid foundation in company formation to nurture and scale innovation for the long term. Since its founding, GI has teamed up with over 35 scientific innovators from leading institutions, already helping ten secure institutional venture capital financings, and built a team of more than 45 seasoned life science executives with an average of 25 years of experience.

The GI model centers on bringing the right people together at the right time for successful company formation, business planning and market entry execution. In an article in Entrepreneur.com, according to data compiled by Fundable, "only 0.91 percent of startups are funded by angel investors, while a measly 0.05 percent are funded by VCs. In contrast, 57 percent of startups are funded by personal loans and credit, while 38 percent receive funding from family and friends." As a company Igniter, unlike incubators or traditional financial investors, General Inception partners with scientific entrepreneurs as true co-founders, working together throughout the journey of company formation, product development, institutional fundraising, and beyond.

"At the infancy of innovation, finding the right co-founders to help nurture and scale it is critically important. We have been scientists, operators, entrepreneurs, and investors, so we know this journey," said Paul Connley, Co-Founder and CEO of General Inception. "We stay with our companies for life. Our initial work is to make our companies well-formed and attractive to venture investors and institutional investors, but we continue to work with them to meet their full potential so that great innovations have the opportunity to solve important market needs."

General Inception has successfully launched companies with nearly 40 leading researchers and institutions worldwide. Examples of companies co-founded with General Inception include Partillion, with Dino Di Carlo, Ph.D. and Joe de Rutte, Ph.D. from UCLA, Alida Bio, with Gudrun Stengel, Ph.D. and Byron Purse, Ph.D., and Constructive Bio, with Jason Chin, Ph.D. of the University of Cambridge.

General Inception has offices in the U.S. and Europe. For more information on General Inception and the world-changing companies it is co-founding, please visit www.generalinception.com.
