Scholarship America Announces New Chief Growth Officer Abigail Seldin

Scholarship America, the nation's largest scholarship administrator, has selected Abigail Seldin as its new Chief Growth Officer. Seldin will join the nonprofit organization's Executive Team and lead the marketing, development, and partner solutions departments.

"Last year, Scholarship America delivered more than $300 million to students in partnership with Fortune 500 corporations, philanthropic organizations, and individual sponsors committed to student success," said Seldin. "With the dedicated Scholarship America team, I am excited to provide our partners with best-in-class service and technology ? and to deliver critical financial support to the students who need it most."

A Rhodes Scholar and experienced executive, Seldin co-founded and led two technology-driven startups from inception to acquisition. In 2012, Seldin co-founded College Abacus, an edtech company that integrated the financial aid calculators for 4000+ institutions, and led its 2014 acquisition by ECMC Group, one of the nation's largest student finance organizations. Following the transaction, Seldin served as ECMC's Vice President of Innovation and Product Development and opened the organization's Washington, D.C. office.

In 2022, Seldin co-founded the Civic Mapping Initiative, a national research center that identified 5000+ last-mile transit expansion opportunities to support workforce development. Following a competitive bid process led by Seldin, Civic Mapping Initiative was acquired by the National League of Cities in November 2023.

Seldin's track record includes building corporate partnerships, industry coalitions, and philanthropic initiatives to support access to higher education. Her recent Kids on Campus Initiative, which focused on relocating Head Start preschools onto community college campuses to support student parents at scale, received an endorsement from The Washington Post Editorial Board in 2023.

"We are thrilled to welcome Abigail to the Scholarship America executive team," said Scholarship America President and CEO Mike Nylund. "Her experience and energy will be invaluable as we work to expand the services we provide to our scholarship sponsors and students across America."
