Quaise Energy, the company unlocking terawatt-scale geothermal, announced today the hiring of Dr. Geoffrey Garrison as Vice President of Operations and Dr. Trenton Cladouhos as Vice President of Geothermal Resource Development. Garrison and Cladouhos bring decades of expertise in geothermal development and high-temperature systems. They will report to Quaise Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Carlos Araque.

"We are excited to have Dr. Garrison and Dr. Cladouhos join our senior leadership team," said Carlos Araque. "With their invaluable experience in geothermal engineering, operations, and resource assessment, they will play a vital role in the Quaise mission to harness abundant clean energy for all."

Garrison previously served as the Vice President of Research and Development at AltaRock Energy. He has over 30 years of experience in industrial development, academic research, technical consulting, and management across multiple sectors. Garrison holds a Ph.D. in Geology and Geophysics from The University of Hawai`i, as well as bachelor's and master's degrees in Geology from Stanford University.

As Vice President of Operations at Quaise, Garrison will be responsible for executing the development of geothermal heat and power assets. He will work closely with the commercial team to identify, plan, build, operate and monitor the company's first pilots in the Western United States. "I am eager to leverage my experience and expertise for the Quaise mission of advancing renewable energy solutions and driving positive change in the world," said Garrison.

Cladouhos brings 35 years of experience in applied geosciences, with the last 15 years in the geothermal industry at AltaRock Energy and Cyrq Energy. He has worked on geothermal projects worldwide, including Engineered Geothermal Systems (EGS), geothermal exploration, drilling, and well field operations. Cladouhos received a Ph.D. in structural geology from Cornell University and a bachelor's degree in geology from Stanford University.

As Vice President of Geothermal Resource Development at Quaise, Cladouhos will lead a team to develop and test technologies to create the world's first superhot rock EGS demonstration. He will additionally lead efforts to characterize the subsurface at sites where geothermal can replace fossil fuels. "I am obsessed with the ability of Superhot Rock Geothermal to meet our future energy needs with zero-carbon, always-on power," said Cladouhos. "I am thrilled to join Quaise where we can make that dream come true."

About Quaise Energy

Quaise Energy is terawatt-scale geothermal, opening access to renewable baseload power for the planet. Deep geothermal uses less than 1% of the land and materials of other renewables, making it the only option for a sustainable clean energy transition.

The Quaise approach to deep geothermal is unique in being geography agnostic. Outfitting existing drilling rigs with millimeter wave technology opens the way for power-dense, deep geothermal energy on a global scale. Quaise is accelerating the clean-energy transition by repowering the fossil-fired infrastructure of today with clean geothermal steam.

Quaise Energy spun out of the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center in 2018. The Company has raised over $90M to date.
