Trailer theft continues to rise, with 67,095 trailers reported stolen in 2022, but only 36% of them recovered, according to Detective Charles Warner with the Arizona Department of Public Safety Multi-Agency Vehicle Theft Task Force (8/30/23, NATDA Trailer Show). In a 2023 blog post, Los Angeles Police Department Detective Randy Blancq wrote "Trailer theft is challenging. Unlike vehicles (most of the time), trailers are simply towed away.
