Deepwatch Appoints Bill Phelps to its Board of Directors

Deepwatch, the leading managed security platform for the cyber resilient enterprise, today announced the appointment of Bill Phelps to its Board of Directors. Phelps will serve as one of three independent board members, joining Tracey Newell and Jeremy Bash. He also serves on the board for Nisos, The Managed Intelligence Company®.

Phelps is a mentor and advisor to CEOs and their boards, leveraging his expertise in technology services gained over his 35+ year career, including more than 20 years leading global cyber and risk businesses for Accenture and Booz Allen Hamilton. He is also an active early-stage cyber investor as a partner and Investment Committee Member for Blu Ventures.

"Bill has been consulting with Deepwatch for some time now, and his perspective and guidance has brought a lot of value for myself and the board," said Charlie Thomas, CEO of Deepwatch. "We are thrilled to have Bill officially join Deepwatch as a board member and I look forward to continuing to leverage his ??deep experience in cyber and operational excellence."

Phelps retired in 2023, but prior to that he spent seven years at Booz Allen, where he served as Executive Vice President, Senior Partner, running the company's global cyber and risk business. He also spent more than 25 years working at Accenture, finishing his career with the company as Global Managing Director of Accenture Security. Phelps co-founded the Virginia-based start-up SevenSpace, a pioneer in the nascent market for remotely delivered IT managed services, in 2000. SevenSpace was acquired by Sun Microsystems in 2005.

"I am impressed by what a great company Charlie and his team have built, and honored to help support Deepwatch's continued growth," said Phelps. "Cybersecurity is a critical challenge for every organization, and Deepwatch has proven it can protect the largest organizations and help them enhance their cyber resilience. I am committed to this mission."
