Leonid Capital Partners Names Ian L. Holroyd CFO

Leonid Capital Partners ("Leonid"), a leading investment firm focused on high-growth technology companies working in the national security industry, today announced it named industry veteran Ian L. Holroyd as its new chief financial officer, effective March 4, 2024. Mr. Holroyd brings nearly 30 years of accounting, finance, and operations experience and previously worked as an outsourced CFO at a large consulting firm that services all investment manager types, including hedge funds, private equity funds, venture funds, and family offices.

Founded in 2019, Leonid is one of the only credit providers for businesses that contract with the federal government for highly technical engagements in fields such as software, biotech, and engineering. Leonid's loans support a wide variety of contract types (including PoRs, OTAs, SBIR/STTR, and others) designed by the U.S. federal government to encourage research, service, and product solutions for critical areas of need.

"Ian is an accomplished CFO, and we're thrilled to add him to our management team," Christopher Lay, Leonid Capital Partners' Co-Founder said. "His deep industry experience in finance, accounting, and operations will play a critical role as we continue to execute on our growth strategy."

"Leonid Capital Partners is a unique company filling a gap in the market and I'm excited to join the firm at this point in its growth trajectory," Holroyd said. "I look forward to working with the team on empowering scientists, engineers, and innovators that require capital to develop impactful technologies to support the national security mission. I'm also really excited about the firm's commitment to giving back to our country's veterans, without whom none of our freedoms would be possible."

Mr. Holroyd comes to Leonid after holding several senior-level finance positions at IQ-EQ, including senior managing director, CFO Services & Accounting. Prior to that, Ian worked as chief accounting officer and executive vice president at WMD Asset Management LLC and as vice president, finance and accounting at Imperial Capital LLC. He also had lengthy stints as a controller and director at a fund of hedge funds as well as a boutique investment bank and broker/dealer; worked for a finance conglomerate; and launched his career with a Big Four CPA Firm in Los Angeles.

Ian completed his B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting at the California State University, Northridge.
