Women in Technology Presents SAIC's Toni Townes-Whitley with Inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award

Women in Technology (WIT), the premier organization contributing to the success of professional women in the Washington metropolitan area technology community, today announced its first-ever Lifetime Achievement award for SAIC CEO Toni Townes-Whitley. The honor will be presented at the 25th Annual Leadership Awards Gala on May 9, which recognizes and celebrates a woman who has made a significant and fundamental impact on the technology industry and the career advancement of women.

"I am deeply grateful to Women in Technology for acknowledging the impact and contributions of women in the technology industry," said Toni Townes-Whitley, Chief Executive Officer of SAIC. "This award serves as a reminder that our achievements are not just individual milestones but also significant milestones for women in the field. Together, we have shattered glass ceilings, overcome barriers, and demonstrated that gender should never limit one's potential."

Widely known as one of today's highest performing global business leaders, Townes-Whitley is the CEO of SAIC. With annual revenues of $7.4 billion and approximately 24,000 employees, SAIC delivers engineering, digital, artificial intelligence, and mission solutions across the government. Prior to SAIC, Townes-Whitley served as presidents of U.S. Regulated Industries at Microsoft and CGI Federal. She currently serves on four boards, including Nasdaq, Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Partnership for Public Service, and the Princeton Faith & Work Initiative.

"Toni is the epitome of what our Lifetime Achievement Award represents. She's not only a powerhouse in global business leadership, but a catalyst for inspiration through her philanthropy, mentorship, and servant leadership," said Julie Murphy, president of WIT. "Her dedication and passion to advancing women in the technology industry, as well her proven track record in cultivating diverse and inclusive teams, are unmatched."

Townes-Whitley's work has been recognized by numerous awards for both her business leadership and commitment to the community. She served as the president of WIT in 2009-2010. In addition to her impact on women in the technology industry, she has served in leadership roles for numerous charities, including the Women's Center of Northern Virginia and US Peace Corps.

WIT will honor Townes-Whitley at the 25th annual Leadership Awards Gala on May 9, 2024 at the Hyatt Regency in Reston, Virginia. The Leadership Awards is a signature event for WIT and the broader Greater Washington business community, recognizing women who excel in their careers while also mentoring the next generation of leaders.
