InventHelp Inventor Develops Device to Detect Arc Flash & Electrical Shock Hazards (TRO-1101)

PITTSBURGH, May 13, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- "I'm an electrician, and I wanted to create a laser projection device that would be used to project a laser light curtain in a planar (2D) shape of an electrical blast arc," said an inventor, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, "so I invented the ARC MARQ. My design would be an informational tool meant to simplify the existing approach to interpreting an Arc Flash & Shock Hazard Danger/Warning label that is required to be present on high voltage equipment."

The invention provides a laser projection device to corroborate the presence of a shock risk. In doing so, it can be used to define the hazard zones with respect to both arc flash and electrical shock hazard. As a result, it increases safety, and it would provide authorized electrical workers physical access to the live equipment. The invention features a practical design that is easy to install and use so it is ideal for electricians, technicians, and other qualified electrical workers. Additionally, a prototype model is available upon request.
