Dallas, Texas Personal Injury Lawyer Jerry Andrews Names Newest Winner of $2,500 Community Impact Scholarship

DALLAS, March 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Attorney Jerry Andrews is proud to announce that he has selected the most recent winner of the biannual Community Impact Scholarship. Each semester, Attorney Andrews provides $2,500 in funding to a deserving college student who has gone above and beyond for their community while simultaneously excelling academically. The Spring 2025 scholarship has been awarded to high school senior Sydney Garber.

Sydney Garber is an incoming freshman at Claremont McKenna College. She has a 4.0 GPA and is the pitcher for her high school softball team. While she has continued to succeed throughout school, Sydney has noticed the effects of the significant pressure she faces, and she has made an effort to make a difference for herself and others. Through her organization, The Iron Butterfly, Sydney has helped to improve mental health of athletes in women's sports by making resources more accessible to student-athletes like herself. She originally founded the organization in May 2024, and she has been helping other students via the organization's website, social media, blogs, and speaking engagements. We are thrilled to provide Sydney with this award and look forward to all she will accomplish in her college career.

Attorney Jerry Andrews has offered the Community Impact Scholarship since 2022, and he has selected a total of eight winners over the last three years. Mr. Andrews has a deep appreciation of the immense value that students and others contribute to their communities. He offers the scholarship in an effort to recognize the hard work students put in to make a difference. To be eligible for the Community Impact Scholarship, students must be actively involved in community service, exhibit strong leadership qualities, maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and be attending college as an undergraduate student. Applicants are asked to submit an essay that discusses the benefits of community service.
